Tickets in Hand. ChaChing!

Most of you folks must be wondering what the hell we’ve been up to the last few days. Well not much other than sleeping and working. Pretty lame I know but we’re working on it. Starting with today.

Eureka! We were finally able to break away for a little sight seeing and more importantly some picking up of some important yellow tickets.

But first, a little about our place. We’re staying a small beach town about 45 minutes north of Durban. It’s called Ballito Bay. More details about the spot can found here

We’re staying at nice self catered house called Villa Sea’Esta. It’s about 400 meters from the surf. I took a video of the setup. Feel free to check it out below and our new roommates that came with the house. The white boxer is Roxy and the other is Shooter. Their super friendly and love chasing Kristina about the house. I’m also including some photos of some monkey’s that paid us a visit. Got to watch out for these guys. They are way different than the monkey’s in CR. Way more aggressive. We’ve been told that they will go in peoples’ homes and take their fruit from their fruit bowl, in fact, we’ve heard their favorite thing to eat are eggs and boy do they make a mess. I would love to see that!

Today we finally got our hands on a car. Which was much needed considering how far from the mess we are. We took our new pimp, Yaris, up to the ticket collection point to get our 12 tickets. Kristina here-I have to say I was quiet terrified for the first bit of the trip. Not only did Patrick have to drive on the left side of the road, wait, let me start over, I’m already a bit scared when hes driving even in the States, so not only was he on the left side, we were also driving on brand new roads and trying to follow directions.

From there we headed over to well known Gateway Mall. It’s got a pretty killer setup. In addition to a 4 story indoor climbing wall they’ve got something called a Wave House. It is ridiculous. We didn’t get a shot at it today but we’re headed back there for sure. I took some video of it. Check that out below.

This Mall is enormous and it’s packed full with surf shops for specific brands from all over the world. The one in particular that caught our eye was the Al Merrick shop. It had a machine in the shop for shaping boards. I took some video of it in action. Check it out.

Below are couple of token World Cup pictures we took while goofing off around the mall.

Kristina again-Unless you were at this mall you have no idea of the excitement of South Africa and the World Cup. There are flags in every window, including jewelry stores, furniture stores, hobby shops, everywhere. A big thing here is to have a horn which sounds like an obnoxiously loud cow. Children and adults alike were walking through the mall blowing horns. A little secret, we have a neighbor with a horn and for three days I thought they had a cow. So I’m a little slow. Watch the video below, you’ll understand.

Tomorrow we leave for Rustenberg to put a PROPER ASS WHIPPING ON THOSE LIMEYS! We’ll be computerless for a few days so we’ll make sure to get updates on the US game and the Germany vs. Aussies on Sunday.
