Living in Tamarindo

As much as we dislike and have pure disdain for the word, we have to say it, we’re “FIANCES”. Officially engaged after 7 years. Patrick proposed on the beach in Ballito Bay, South Africa! WE’RE ENGAGED!

We were out running “errands”, had to go to Avis to change the contract. Patrick wanted to take a short walk on the beach. He asked a sunbather to take a picture of us. Most of you folks must be wondering what the hell we’ve been up to the last few days. Well not much other than sleeping and working. Pretty lame I know but we’re working on it. Starting with today.

Eureka! We were finally able to break away for a little sight seeing and more importantly some picking up of some important yellow tickets.

But first, a little about our place. We’re staying a small beach town about 45 minutes north of Durban. It’s called Ballito Bay. More details about the spot can found here

…and it’ll be a good day. Patrick always likes to say about Costa Rica, “Wake up in the morning expecting nothing and your day will go smoothly.”

Starting our travels on Thursday, June 3rd, I’ve begun thinking about what I want out of our trip to South Africa or what I’m expecting when we get there. However, when I travel, I tend to go into it without any expectations. This way I can fully appreciate where I am and what it has to offer without being overwhelmed or disappointed.
