After the US vs. Slovenia game ended around 6:30pm, we left for Ballito, because we had a 1:30pm game, Holland vs. Japan! We arrived in Ballito around 1am, this gave us about 7 hours of sleep, until we woke up and prepared for yet another game!

If you’ve already read the blog titled, “Apartheid Museum”, then you know we’re staying in a cold house, but this morning it wasn’t a cold house, I believe, but don’t quote me, but I believe it was close to sub-zero temperatures. Ethel our host, who is a lovely woman, made an amazing breakfast, sausages, bacon, toast, fried eggs, cheeses, and all the accouterma’. YOU COULD SEE OUR BREATH! White we ate, you could see our breath. We were glad to be out and in the sun.

Bafana Bafana!
Two words we are hearing quite a bit here in South Africa, “Bafana Bafana”, it means “Go Boys Boys”. Its the name for the national South Africa soccer team. So on Friday we drove up to Pretoria to spend the night before the US game on Saturday. We wanted to get there in time to watch the opening game with the locals. There’s truly nothing like watching the games of the host country with the locals.
